Just before the classic Trento Bondone/ITA on 8 June 2026, the Italian drivers have taken the lead in the European Hill Climb Championship. Ecce Homo/CZE once again ensured that there were some surprising results, resulting in various changes to the overall classification. The previous leader, Frenchman Kevin Petit, was displaced at the top of the intermediate standings by multiple European champion Christian Merli/ITA. Between Merli and Petit, very experienced Fausto Bormolini also took 2nd place. There was a merger at the top of the touring car standings, with O'Play/ITA leading the way ahead of the well-performing Spaniard Luis Antonio Penido Lopez and Igor Stefanovski/MKD.
Spanish sympathiser Joseba Iraola Lanzagorta has won his home race in Spain at the “Subida al Fito” on 18/05/2025. The Spaniard came out on top in the overall classification ahead of Christian Merli (ITA) and Kevin Petit (FRA). The battle at the top of the racing sports cars is extremely varied this year, with three different winners from three different countries taking the top spot. In the touring car category, Grzegorz Rozalski (POL) came out on top ahead of Igor Stefanovski (MKD) and Javier Villa Garcia (ESP).
At the second event of the European Hill Climb Championship 2025 at the « Grossen Bergpreis von Österreich» on the Rechberg, Frenchman Kevin Petit won for the second time this year. He came out on top in the scratch ranking ahead of Christian Merli/ITA and Joseba Iraola Lanzagorta/ESP. In the touring car category, Swiss driver Reto Meisel won ahead of Dan Michl (CZE) and Igor Stefanovski (MKD).
